The runner commonly describes a sensation of tightness and burning pain over the outside of the knee. The discomfort occurs after covering a certain distance and often occurs in runners who increase their mileage.
The Iliotibial (ITB) gets fatigued and starts to ''snap'' over the bone. At a certain point you can run no more.
